| Aims and Objectives
CRESTA was developed in response to a tender released by the Learning & Skills Council for environmental projects. Environment Kernow is the strategic lead for this project. The project will end on the 31st June 2008.
The aims of CRESTA are two fold:
- Research to inform:
- The current and future Environmental skills / training needs of businesses, individuals and communities.
- Provision mapping and gap analysis.
- Develop a 10 year strategic development plan for EK on behalf of the partnership.
- Create opportunities for training, awareness and employment.
The projects wider objectives are listed below:
- Map existing and future environmental skills, knowledge and provision for strategic leaders, managers, operatives, front line workers and communities across all sectors including; public, private and voluntary across Cornwall and the IoS.
- Increase capacity of the environmental sectors in order to be more responsive to the needs of businesses, individuals and communities in terms of their respective environmental sector learning and development needs.
- Create, promote and offer appropriate training opportunities within the environmental sectors in response to the training and skills needs analysis.
- Develop routeways to employment for non-employed beneficiaries linked to the Cornwall Works LAA outcomes.
- Form a strategic plan on behalf of Environment Kernow that sets out a developmental pathway to enable the environmental sectors to be responsive to future demand.
- To contribute to the Environment Kernow LAA Sustain 6 Outcome which acknowledges economic, social and environmental dimensions and opportunities as headline actions to develop Cornwall as a Centre of Excellence for the Natural Environment.
- To contribute to community engagement in environmental matters and contribute to the LAA Strong 2 outcome of local people taking a greater role in public service delivery through increasing volunteering.
